The museum houses contemporary artwork from many famous artists such as Alexander Calder, Salvador Dali, Willem De Kooning, Robert De Niro, and Henri Matisse to name a few. In addition, an extensive collection of African art, animation cels and comic strip art, American art, Master Drawings and Paintings are also on display.

Goldwell Open Air Museum

The Goldwell Open Air Museum is a 7.8 acre outdoor sculpture park approximately 5 miles west of the town of Beatty and 120 miles north of Las Vegas. It is a free admission facility, open year-round, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It began as a project of Belgian artist Albert Szukalski in 1984 with the installation of his major sculpture, "The Last Supper," which he created in cooperation with several Beatty residents. In subsequent years, six additional pieces were added to the site by three other Belgian artists (Fred Bervoets, Hugo Heyrman, and Dre Peeters) who, like Szukalski, were major figures in European art with extensive exhibition records.

Guggenheim Hermitage Museum

Opened in 2001, the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum offers visitors to Las Vegas an unprecedented opportunity to view some of the world's finest art and special exhibitions. New exhibitions are mounted every six to twelve months, drawing from the permanent collections of three of the world's greatest museums - the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna - as well as other renowned collections around the world. The museum was designed by critically acclaimed architect Rem Koolhaas, winner of the 2000 Pritzker Prize in architecture.

Located at the Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino (adjacent to the hotel lobby), the museum is open seven days a week from 9:30 am to 8:30 am. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and Nevada residents, $11 for students, $7 for children ages 6-12, free for children under six and museum members. Public tours are available most days (free with paid admission). A recorded audio guide is available for an additional fee. Annual pass available for $45; gift certificates also available for museum admission. Museum store open daily 9:00 am to 9:00pm.

GROUPS: Several options are available to groups, including discounted admission for groups of ten or more, guided tours, private viewings, and museum vouchers for prepaid admission. King Tutankhamun's Tomb & Museum

An authentic reproduction of King Tutankhamun's tomb. The measurements of each of the rooms are exact. The treasures therein were reproduced by artisans using the same gold leaf and linens, precious pigments, tools and original 3,300-year-old methods, and each is meticulously positioned according to the records maintained by the Carter expedition.
The exhibit houses hundreds of reproductions, including the world-famous guardian statues, King Tut's sarcophagus, and an array of statues, vases, beds, baskets and pottery.

The Museum shows the history of aviation in Southern Nevada, from the first flight in 1920 through the introduction of jets. The Museum focuses on the history of commercial and general aviation, and is open 24 hours a day. The Museum's main exhibit is located above baggage claim on level two, with an additional exhibit in the general and corporate aviation terminal operated by Signature Flight Support. Admission is free.

The Neon Museum officially "opened" with the installation of its first refurbished sign, The Hacienda Horse and Rider, on November 15, 1996 at the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd. and Fremont Street. Today ten refurbished signs can be seen 24 hours a day 7 days a week in outdoor "galleries". The first gallery is located in front of Neonopolis on the south side near the Horse and Rider and the other is on the 3rd Street cul-de-sac adjacent to The Fremont Street Experience canopy.

The Searchlight Heritage Museum, a satellite of the Clark County Heritage Museum, reports the history of the mining boom town of Searchlight, which once surpassed Las Vegas in population. The story of Searchlight mining and railroad heritage and its many colorful pioneer citizens is told through photos, artifacts, exhibits, and an outdoor mining park.

The Museum is housed in the Community Center in Searchlight, 60 miles south of Las Vegas on Highway 65. Admission is free. Open Mon-Wed 1:00pm to 5:00pm; Thur 1:00pm to 9:00pm & Sat 9:00am to 1:00pm
 

Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art

The Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art has opened at 1000 E, Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas. Currently exhibiting the masterly work of Zinda Hogue and abstract works by local artist, Rick Metzler. The Museum is non-profit and features contemporary art exhibits emphasizing art after Post-Modernism. Free Admission

Thunderbird Museum

The Thunderbirds offer public tours of their facility every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00pm The tour is not held on federal holidays or during the team’s Christmas, Easter and mid-season break. People can call (702) 652-9902 for updated information on tour cancellations. To attend the tour, people must be at the Nellis AFB Main Gate (located on Las Vegas Boulevard at the intersection of Craig Road by 1:45pm There they will obtain a visitor's pass that will give them access to the base. To obtain the pass, people must have a valid drivers license, current registration and proof of insurance for their vehicle. For rental vehicles, a drivers license and a copy of the rental contract is sufficient. Please note that no transportation is provided from the Main Gate to the Thunderbird Hangar. The tour includes a short video, guided museum walk-through and a chance to look at a Thunderbird F-16 up close (depending on aircraft availability).
Please Note: Access to the Thunderbird Museum is not available to the general public at this time, please call to see if this has changed.

The museum, a nonprofit tax-exempt corporation, strives to preserve and promote the history of people of African descent in Las Vegas, as well as across the US and abroad. The museum offers over 10,000 items consisting of ethnic dolls, art, artifacts, figurines, posters, prints, books, magazines, buttons, records, and personal items of renown African-Americans and must more. The museum's gift shop offers an array of afrocentric art, gifts, greeting cards, fashion and accessories.
The museum also publishes "Black Pioneers of Nevada," which highlights the accomplishments of Pioneers past and present. This is the only annual publication of its kind. The sixth edition honors 52 Pioneers.
